Laura Dixon // Owner & Manager

 

Laura Dixon was born and raised in Ballarat, while completing her senior schooling she worked part time as a stable assistant at the Ballarat Veterinay Practice equine facility.  On completion of year 12 Laura took on the stable assistant position in a full time capacity.  After broardening her skills in New Zealand on a stud farm during foaling season, she returned to Australia to further her studies at Marcus Oldham College in 2005. 

 

Upon graduating Laura worked at Makybe stud, Gnarwarre where she completed two yearling preperations including Melbourne Premier and Sydney Easter Sales.  A move to Caulfield to work for Mick Price for five and a half years resulted in the position of stable foreman.  During this time Laura completed the Diploma of Thoroughbred Racing and was awarded Tabcorp Full-Time Thoroughbred Emloyee of the Year 2012. 

 

With the dream of establishing her own property specialising in equine care and rehabilitation Laura acquired Dowling View Equine Centre in 2012 and began establishing the property with the facilitiies required to accomodate and care for all equines. 

 

Laura is professional and caring and capable of looking after your thoroughbred.

 

With Dowling Views greatest success being recovering 2015 Melbourne Cup winner Prince of Penzance , after fetlock surgery only to be followed with Colic surgery soon after.
